Resumen
El nacimiento pretérmino es la principal causa de morbimortalidad en el periodo neonatal, siendo la ruptura de membranas responsable de 30% de los nacimientos prematuros. En la mayoría de los casos de RPM y sepsis neonatal temprana, los microorganismos responsables están presentes en el líquido amniótico, pero éstos no siempre son identificados por las técnicas habituales de cultivo por lo que se desconoce a ciencia cierta su prevalencia como agentes patógenos involucrados.
