Medición por resonancia magnética de la distancia piel-espacio peridural en pacientes del Hospital Central Militar

Resumen
La distancia existente desde la piel hasta el espacio peridural es un elemento clave en la técnica de la punción lumbar, específicamente cuando se ha de llevar a cabo un bloqueo peridural, esto con el fin de evitarle al paciente una de la complicaciones más frecuentes de dicho procedimiento, y que incluso son motivo de demanda para el anestesiólogo, la punción de la duramadre. La literatura publicada hasta el momento y de distintas fuentes alrededor del mundo describe esa distancia entre 3 a 7 cm, con distintas variaciones de acuerdo con el autor y nacionalidad de la población estudiada. El presente estudio aborda esa distancia con ayuda de la resonancia magnética.
