Luxación crónica de la cabeza radial, una modificación a la técnica de Bell Tawse. Nivel de evidencia: informe preliminar, nivel III (serie de casos)

Resumen
La luxación anterior traumática de la cabeza radial se acompaña generalmente de ruptura de la cápsula articular, el ligamento anular, y puede acompañarse o no de una fractura distal del cúbito o del mismo radio. Si dicha luxación es reconocida durante el primer mes después del trauma, la reducción de dicha luxación mediante un tratamiento conservador, traerá buenos resultados.
Es muy controversial el tratamiento de la luxación crónica, es decir, aquella que tiene más de un mes de evolución. Las opiniones difieren de una manera extensa, la técnica quirúrgica mas aceptada para esta patología es la clásica descripción del trabajo del Dr. Bell Tawse en que toma una larga laja central del tendón tricipital, aproximadamente de 6 centímetros y con ella rodear la cabeza radial, y fijar al cúbito a través de un puente óseo y así "reconstruir" un ligamento anular, ya sea acompañada o no de osteotomías radial o cubital.
