Enfermedad de Alzheimer, aspectos electroencefalográficos

Resumen
Con el fin de aprovechar la información que aporta la elec• troencefalografia cuantitativa (EEGc) se realizó un estudio en vigilia a 12 pacientes con diagnóstico clínico de enfermedad de Alzheimer y con diferentes grados de demencia determinados por un mini examen mental. Se encontraron datos cuantitativos característicos de demencia leve y otros que aparecieron consis• tentemente en pacientes con demencia grave; por lo tanto, es posible establecer una correlación electroclínlca aceptable. Se concluyó que el EEG es un estudio de gabinete útil para apoyar el diagnóstico temprano de la enfermedad de Alzheimer, para realizar el diagnóstico diferencial con otros tipos de demencia y para seguir la evolución de la enfermedad.
