Resumen
La articulación del hombro presenta patologías como el síndrome subacromial, la inestabilidad glenohumeral, lesiones del mango rotador y bursitis que son susceptibles de tratamiento quirúrgico por vía abierta o artroscópica. El dolor del hombro sólo se concebía como el producto de una capsulitis adhesiva o de una inestabilidad, los procedimientos que se realizaban con mayor frecuencia eran las infiltraciones intraarticulares, las movilizaciones bajo anestesia y técnicas para estabilizar este complejo articular. Actualmente estos padecimientos se pueden resolver por vía artroscópica.
