Cambios en la articulación temporomandibular posterior a cirugía ortognática observados en resonancia magnética

Resumen
La corrección quirúrgica de las deformidades esqueléticas dentofaciales mediante cirugía ortognática parece tener un efecto beneficioso en los signos y síntomas de los trastornos disfuncionales temporomandibulares, pero también se ha comprobado que tras la cirugía ortognática en algunos pacientes estos signos y síntomas pueden empeorar, así como sujetos libres de la patología relacionada con la articulación temporomandibular pueden desarrollarla después de la cirugía ortognática.
